DESCRIPTION:TWILIGHT XCO – The Domain\nDate \nThu\, 23rd March\, 2023 \nEntries open \nSun\, 5th March\, 10:00 AM AEDT \nEntries close \nWed\, 22nd March\, 2023 9:00 PM AEDT \nPay online by \nWed\, 22nd March\, 2023 9:00 PM AEDT \nMTB XC TWILIGHT SPRINT SERIES \nThursday on The Domain \nFinal Race 4 – 23rd March\, 2023 \nWe’ve designed a quick 2km loop for our exclusive use that includes some dirt\, grass\, gravel – you’ll love it!  It also has some up and down. The trail is pretty much all green\, so youngsters and those new to mountain biking are very much encouraged. \nKeen to keep it cruisy? We will have a 30 minute slot for you to complete one or two laps at your own speed (untimed) – start time 5.30pm \nBuilt for speed? Take 45 minutes to complete as many laps as you can smash out (and we’ll have the full timing rig to see just how fast you can go) – start time 6.30pm \nTime \n\nRegistration from 5pm\nCruising session starts 5.30pm\, finish soon after 6pm\nSpeedster session starts 6.30pm\, finish soon after 7.15pm\n\nA FREE BBQ to celebrate the end of the summer/twilight series – food\, goodies and refreshments to enjoy afterwards with family and fellow riders. \nVenue: Top of The Domain \nThe track will start and finish near the very top of the Domain\, just below the Queens Domain Upper Summit Carpark.  There is plenty of parking\, picnic tables\, a couple of BBQs and space for a picnic rug so you can lie back and watch the action roll by. \nBikes and Equipment: \nPlease be sure your bike is in great nick\, with working brakes\, no play in the bearings and plugged bar ends. Mountain bike riding can be dangerous and we need everyone to wear a helmet and gloves. \nEntry Categories: \nFor the twilight series we are looking to keep things super simple – just choose either the Cruiser or Speedster event and select your correct age category.  For the speedsters\, we’ll provide results showing your splits and competitor ages (so you can choose who you wish to compare yourself to!). \nAll junior riders are required to have a parent or guardian attend the event with them. \nOnline Entries Only: No entries will be accepted on the day \nCost and Registration \nCruisers – $10\nSpeedsters – $15 \nTo register and participate in this event\, riders must hold a valid AusCycling Membership at the time of registering. Please note: Membership must be valid on the date of the event for which you are registering. If your membership expires before the date of the event\, you must renew your membership before entering this event.  For more information on AusCycling membership options CLICK HERE. \nEvent Conditions \nThe event organiser reserves the right to change or cancel the event. This can be due to weather events (our permit to use the venue will be cancelled if the tracks are too wet) or circumstances outside of the control of the event organiser. If an event is cancelled\, rescheduling will occur where possible. Full refunds are available upon cancelation or for anyone unable to make the date of a rescheduled event. \nCOVID-19 Notice \nAll participants and attendees will be required to follow Tasmanian Public Health Protocols – see Current restrictions – Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) \nPlease don’t attend if you have COVID-19 or have flu like symptoms. \nPlease observe good hygiene practices at the event\, including hand sanitising/washing & distancing of 1.5m + where possible \n  \n\n\n\n

Best suited to someone who can ride every trail type that isn’t a machine-built flow trail\, climb with grace and descend with a grin – sound like you??? \nThis will be a time trial event around a single loop of the Coningham Reserve (link to the intended trail is below)\, with each rider heading off at regular intervals over a 1 – 1.5 hour period (start times to be advised the day before the race).  The course is around 12km but don’t be fooled into thinking you can do this in 30 minutes at an average speed of 25km/h – with almost 500m of climbing and too many switch backs to count\, it will take a little longer than that. \nGiven the expected duration of the event (around an hour for the elite amongst us\, somewhere between one and two hours for the rest)\, the event is only open for categories U17 and above. \n\nOnline Entries Only: No entries will be accepted on the day\n\nVenue: Coningham Nature Recreation Area \nThe race will start and finish close to the Coningham Main Beach car park just off Coningham Road\, where there are public toilets\, a few tables and some cool water for a refreshing dip after the race. \nThe track will link together a number of blue and green trails along the foothills of the reserve\, then wind its way up close to the summit and then descend back down to the start/finish line. \nhttps://strava.app.link/0hXakzhvuxb \nBikes and equipment: \nPlease be sure your bike is in great nick\, with working brakes\, no play in the bearings and plugged bar ends. Mountain bike riding can be dangerous and we need you to wear a helmet and gloves. \nCategories: \n\n\n\nType\n–\nCategories\n\n\n\n\nAdults\nMale\, Female\nElite\, Veterans (30-39)\, Masters (40-49)\, Super Masters (50-59)\, Grand Masters (60+)\n\n\nJuniors\nMale\, Female\nU17\, U19\, U23\n\n\n\nPlease choose your correct age category when you enter the race. \nCOST \nUnder 19s – $10\n19 years and over -$20 \nDay Race Permit Fees available at extra cost if required from Auscycling \nTIME: \nSun 19 March 2023 \nRego opens – 9:30am \nRacing starts at 10:00am\, riders departing at 1-2min intervals until no later than 11.30am \n1pm – Event complete \nGETTING THERE \nConingham Nature Recreation Area is around 35 minutes drive from central Hobart\, via Kingston and Snug.  A link to the start/finish is below. \nhttps://goo.gl/maps/1G7TcG89vB5rVwYRA \nLICENSING \nRiders in the main race must have a current Auscycling Membership (CA or MTBA if still valid ) \nA day Race Event Permit is be available if you do not have a licence. SUMMARY:TasXC Series 2022
DESCRIPTION:Four Clubs – Four Venues – Four Races\nState Championship – Devonport\n\n\nAbout us\nFour Clubs – Four Venues – Four Races State Championship – the level of challenge will definitely step up for the Glenorchy round of the 2022 Tas series – expect a swag of switchback climbs\, fast flowing descents\, rocky chutes and the odd jump to keep it interesting \n\nENTER HERE: https://entryboss.cc/races/11672\n\nAbout the series\nIn September the Pedal Heads invite you to St Helens for the first round of the inaugural TasXC Series. St Helens is probably better known for its gravity trails but the Pedal Heads are determined to show you that we also have challenging XC trails. \nNext XC racers are treated to a challenging round in Osmaston\, hosted by the Launceston Mountain Bike Club. This will be a rare opportunity to race in some of the best XC tracks in Tassie\, and definitely not to be missed. \nEveryone knows the south of the state is particularly beautiful in early November. Time to visit Glenorchy to see what the Hobart Wheelers / Dirt Devils have come up with to test your skills\, speed and endurance. \nFinally the State Championships await at the end of November in the beautiful city of Devonport. Kelcey Tier will provide just the right mix of technical and fun trails that will see worthy state champions emerge. \nWe will celebrate the fastest person in each category of each race. \n\nAbout Race 1 – St Helens (4 September 2022)\nWe have been working hard to come up with an XC lap that will test your endurance as well as your riding skills. Our trail is mostly using the Rock Lobster trail\, which starts right at the trail head\, where racers\, supporters and spectators can prepare and relax. We will add elements from a few other trails to create overtaking opportunities. DId we mention a blisteringly fast downhill with jumps and berms? \nAbout Race 2 – Osmaston (16 October 2022)\nDespite being privately owned they are some of the best XC racing trails in Tasmania. We only get to use them on special occasions\, so make the most of this fabulous opportunity and come and see what magic Chris & Astrid have created. They are always fast and smooth and always dry\, but most of all fun!!! Also one of the best MTB race viewing venues in the state so bring your family along to watch. \nAbout Race 3 – Glenorchy (6 November 2022)\nTolosa Mountain Bike Park is Hobart’s classic MTB venue on the lower slopes of Mt Wellington. The trails are fast & fun but pretty rough. Expect some climbing but to make sure the effort is manageable for everyone we’ll be running 2 different courses with a slightly shorter lap with less elevation for Race 1 entrants.\nFind directions how to get to the race here. \nAbout Race 4 / State Championships – Devonport (26 November 2022)\nKelcey Tier in Devonport is the unsung gem of the Northwest Coast of Tas and the home trail for the Mersey Mountain Bike Club. These trails provide a large array of technicality\, rocky climbs and fun flowing descents and there’s plenty of elevation to play with. Bring your family and friends along and watch the racing from our race village or out on the track. \n\nBefore you jump in & sign up\nPlease note that you need to have an MTBA or AusCycling RACE or DAY license – please check before you sign up. We’re sure your bike is in great nick\, with working brakes\, no play in the bearings and plugged bar ends. Mountain bike riding can be dangerous and we need you to wear a helmet and gloves. \n\nRace Categories\nKeeping entries simple.\nHowever\, to ensure a fair race the results calculation will be based on typical MTB categories. \n\n\n\nType\n–\nCategories\n\n\n\n\nAdults\nMale\, Female\nElite\, Veterans (30-39)\, Masters (40-49)\, Super Masters (50-59)\, Grand Masters (60+)\n\n\nJuniors\nMale\, Female\nU13\, U15\, U17\, U19\, U23\n\n\n\nPlease choose your correct age category when you enter the race. \n\nRace entry:\nEnter here to race in St Helens on 4 September. \n\n\n\nType\nRaces\nAusCycling license holders\n\n\n\n\nJunior\n4\n$10\n\n\nAdult\n4\n$20\n\n\n\n\nSeason Pass:\nWant the convenience of a season pass – and save one race entry (pay 3 race 4!) ? \nEnter here to take out the Series Pass and race all our events. We will have a 30 minute slot for you to complete one or two laps at your own speed (untimed) – start time 5.30pm \nBuilt for speed? Take 45 minutes to complete as many laps as you can smash out (and we’ll have the full timing rig to see just how fast you can go) – start time 6.30pm \nTime \n\nRegistration from 5pm\nCruising session starts 5.30pm\, finish soon after 6pm\nSpeedster session starts 6.30pm\, finish soon after 7.15pm\n\nWhy not BYO some BBQ goodies and refreshments to enjoy afterwards with family and fellow riders.
