Hobart Wheelers Dirt Devils are committed to supporting junior riders to access a wide variety of opportunities to practice and develop their bike skills.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Kids are encouraged to try new skills and the club offers a range of different bike skills sessions and races for kids to participate in.

Bike Skills

In 2021 HWDD have successfully run Junior Bike Skills under the guidance of local bike coach Justin Morris from Mind Matters Coaching.  The bike skills have been held at Tolosa Criterium Circuit, closed off from cars, which allows a safe space for kids to practice bike handling skills, techniques, race craft and terminology.  Updated information is shared on the HWDD Facebook Page and registrations via EntryBoss.

Come and Try Track

In November 2021 HWDD will offer Come and Try Track Sessions for Juniors at the New Town Track.  This will be under the guidance of experienced local coaches with some track bikes available to try.

Bike Races

There is a wide variety of options for kids to enter bike races offering juniors a chance to participate in their respective age groups.

Our club offers racing in cross country and gravity mountain bike, track (velodrome) cycling, road, and cyclocross.

Membership

All kids who participate in Junior Bike Programs or races will need to obtain a valid AusCycling membership by visiting the AusCycling Website.   The website provides lots of information about the benefits of membership, including the options of a Family Membership.  Remember to nominate Hobart Wheelers Dirt Devils as your home club when you join.
