WHAT TO EXPECT

The focus for Juniors is skills development and fun. Many of our senior riders use this training to prepare for racing, however new riders to track are very welcome with more experienced riders providing guidance on getting used to track.

With a wide range of events track racing can suit sprinters and endurance riders alike.

JUNIORS use the track from 4pm to 5:30pm. There will be some Track Bike available for use by Juniors.
Juniors will be required to wear a helmet, comfy sports clothes and running shoes/or cycling shoes if they have them.
Juniors with their own Track Bikes please bring along to use.

SENIORS generally get a minimum of three races including a scratch and a mix of handicap, points, elimination, pursuit or sprints.

In addition we providing some road bike events on track in the lead up to the State Crit titles at Tolosa on Dec 15 .

WEATHER dependent. We cannot ride in the rain. A post will be made on our Facebook page if training will be cancelled due to bad weather.

  • Juniors 4-5:30pm
  • Seniors from 6pm

COST

  • Seniors: $10
  • Juniors: $0

Frequent Flyers:

Automatic Capped pricing across all Monday track events, meaning your entry is free after you hit the cap.

  • Track Season Cap – Seniors: $130

TRACK BIKE USE/HIRE

The Club has a small number of bikes available to try track cycling. Free to use for juniors (but limited numbers)

These range from 48cm up to 58cm

Please let us know in advance if you want to use or hire a bike and bring pedals and shoes if possible.


JUNIOR GEAR RESTRICTIONS

Gear restrictions apply to all junior cyclists in events conducted under Cycling Australia/AusCycling regulations on the road and track.

The restrictions referred to is the distance one revolution of the crank arm will propel the bicycle, this is known as the ‘roll out’.

LICENSING

Riders must have a current AusCycling License – options include yearly (do it – there are lots of benefits), trial, or per event.
