XCO racing is back for the 24/25 season. In preparation for the two National Series XC rounds being hosted at Tolosa on the 2025 Australia Day long weekend, we have an opportunity for you to test out one of the courses and enjoy some of the best ups and downs that Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park has to offer.

TIME & DATE Sunday 3 November Registration open from 9am Race starts at 10am

VENUE: Glenorchy MTB Park, Tolosa St

Venue Details: The event is being held on the awesome trails at Glenorchy MTB Park. Car parking is available in the public car park at the trail head at the end of Tolosa Road. The event start/finish and registration is located approximately 100m from the car park.

ENTRY CATEGORIES Adults: Male, Female Elite, Expert, Masters 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, Sport Juniors: Male, Female U11, U13, U15, U17, U19

The sport category is intended for those aged U19 and older that are beginning or consolidating XC racing. The sport course will be shorter & easier than the full course. Give it a bash!

All junior riders are required to have a parent or guardian attend the event with them.

COURSE & LAPS The main course be a 6km XCO course, with a solid amount of climbing & will probably include some technical features. The exact course details will be provided closer to the event.

U15, U13, U11 and Sport Categories will complete a shorter course, with reduced climbing & less technical features – it will be largely green with a handful of blue.

Final laps per age group will be determined closer to event depending upon track conditions. Indicative lap numbers and schedule are below.

Elite Male: 6 laps Elite Female: 5 laps Expert Male & Female: 4 laps U19 Male & Female: 4 laps Masters 1/2, Male & Female: 4 laps Masters 3/4 Male: 4 laps Masters 3/4 Female: 3 laps Masters 5+ Male & Female: 3 laps U17: 3 laps Sport: 3 laps (short) U15: 3 laps (short) U13: 2 laps (short) U11: 1 lap (short)

FACILITIES Toilets: available in Tolosa Park, down the hill Water: available in the MTB Park. Post race food & drink: cans of fizz & choccy bars – you’ve earned it.

BIKES & EQUIPMENT

Please be sure your bike is in great nick, with working brakes, no play in the bearings and plugged bar ends.

Helmets: you must wear a helmet that meets Australian Standards – inspections may occur. Gloves recommended.

Under 19s and below – $20 Seniors: $30

LICENSING

Racers must have a current Auscycling race licence.

For those new to racing, AusCycling offers a one month free trial membership.
Even better – get yourself an off road or all discipline licence, join the Hobart Wheeler Dirt Devils and you’ll be able to go in the abundance of races put on by Tassie’s cycling clubs. See https://auscycling.org.au/become-a-member

Event Conditions The event organiser reserves the right to change or cancel the event. This can be due to weather events (our permit to use the venue will be cancelled if the tracks are too wet) or circumstances outside of the control of the event organiser. If an event is cancelled, rescheduling will occur where possible. Full refunds are available upon cancelation or for anyone unable to make the date of a rescheduled event.
