ABOUT

The Dirt Devils Mountain Bike Club is hosting the 2023 XCO Auscycling Tasmanian State Championships, providing an opportunity to race some of the best hand-crafted single track that Kellevie has to offer. Practice session on Saturday 9 December (afternoon); free camping available on Saturday night.

  • Online Entries Only: No entries will be accepted on the day

TIME Competition will be held on Sunday 10 December. Registration open from 9am Start times will be determined closer to the event dependent on entry numbers, with the expectation of two start times – 10am and 12 noon, with a race briefing 15 minutes prior to the scheduled race start. Presentation ceremonies will take place at approximately 2pm.

VENUE: Kellevie MTB Park

Venue Details: The event is being held on private property at Kellevie. The location of the entry gate is 509 Kellevie Road, just opposite the Kellevie Recreation Ground, where there is water and a public toilet (location map shown below). The race village, including the start/finish and plenty of car parking, is about 2km from the entry gate.

Venue Access and Camping: Access to the venue will be open for competitors from 11am on Saturday until the completion of presentations on Sunday 10 December. Participants are welcome to camp at the race village on Saturday 9 December, utilising their own camping equipment and catering.

COURSE The track will link together a number of favourite trails from the many events that have been held at Kellevie over the years, which include both hand-crafted single track and few wider trails to allow for passing. The likely lap length is 5.7km with 107m total elevation gain.

FACILITIES Toilets: Portaloos will be available at the race village. Additional public toilets are available at the Kellevie Recreation Ground, opposite the entry to the Kellevie property. Food vendors: A food vendor providing hot drinks and some food options will be on site for the duration of the event. Water: A large water tank is located in the race village.

BIKES & EQUIPMENT

Please be sure your bike is in great nick, with working brakes, no play in the bearings and plugged bar ends.

Helmets: you must wear a helmet that meets Australian Standards – inspections may occur.

Racers must have a current Auscycling Membership

Please choose your correct age category when you enter the race.

Final categories and start times will be determined closer to the event. This will be dependent on number of entries in various age groups. Races will be evened out as much as possible to reduce congestion. Laps per age group will be determined closer to event. Indicative lap numbers and schedule are below. Event Conditions The event organiser reserves the right to change or cancel the event. This can be due to weather events (our permit to use the venue will be cancelled if the tracks are too wet) or circumstances outside of the control of the event organiser. If an event is cancelled, rescheduling will occur where possible. Full refunds are available upon cancelation or for anyone unable to make the date of a rescheduled event.

Please observe good hygiene practices at the event, including hand sanitising/washing & distancing of 1.5m + where possible
